A Kogi State indigene, Mr. Sunny Alfa, has emerged as the new Chairman of the Union, Suppliers and Marketing Section, Daijinjia Quarry, located along the Airport Road, Abuja.

Alfa was elected after a keenly contested election that drew wide participation from union members across the quarry’s supply and marketing units. The exercise, which was described as peaceful and transparent by observers, ended with Alfa polling the highest number of votes to clinch the position.

Speaking shortly after the announcement of the results, several union members attributed Alfa’s victory to his personal qualities, describing him as humble, approachable and committed to the welfare of colleagues.

According to them, his reputation as a humane and credible colleague who relates freely with members without discrimination played a major role in his emergence as chairman.

“He is someone who listens, supports people in difficult times and treats everyone equally. That is why many of us trusted him with this responsibility,” a member of the union said.

Since his election, Alfa has continued to receive an outpouring of congratulatory messages from friends, associates and business partners within and outside the country, reflecting the goodwill he enjoys among stakeholders in the sector.

Although he is yet to make a formal acceptance speech, supporters expressed confidence that his leadership would foster unity, transparency and improved cooperation among suppliers and marketers at the quarry.

The Daijinjia Quarry union is regarded as a key platform for coordinating the activities of suppliers and marketers, with members hopeful that the new leadership will strengthen engagement and address pressing concerns within the quarry.
